...SSG-Supreme Student Government...

Electing new officers for the Supreme Student Government every year is one of the traditions of Cavite National Science High School. Election will be done when the school year will end already. This year, we are already in junior level, so the president and some higher positions will belong to some third year students. I really wonder who will run as presidents for the upcoming election because Sanglay said that he will not run as president. The running officers were announced one afternoon in our flag retreat, Mizpah, the president of the HUMAN Party and Robert for the BENCH Party.

The part I am really waiting for every election is the Meeting de Avance. In this event, each running officer will have their speech to encourage the students to vote for them. The president will also mention their agenda for making our school a better one and providing comfort for the students. In the open forum, some students can also ask questions to the running officers regarding their agenda and what they can do for the school.

The election was done a day after the Meeting de Avance. The voting system in our school is new. This time, we will just shade the circle to the corresponding officers we will vote. The winners were also announced the same day.

The president who won is Robert who is really good at public speaking, Sanglay for Vice-President, Joshua for Secretary and Lance for the position of 4th year representative. I cannot mention all the winners because I already forgot their names. I hope these new officers can continue to improve the excellence of the students in our school.

...Musical Play (Enchanted)...

February 8-12, 2010

Performing a musical play is one of our projects this 4th grading. When we heard that from our teacher, we are all excited but also nervous especially I because it’s my first time to do that. In this musical play, we are in-charge of everything. The whole class will be the one to choose the piece we will perform and we will also be the one to choose the directors, the main casts and the extras. We chose the movie "Enchanted".

Our practice progresses well mainly because of the cooperation of each other. AK is our director and I am really proud of her. She is a good director because she really says what is on her mind. We started the Park Scene and we really need effort to finish that part because it is one of the main scenes. But of course, some conflicts and troubles arise but I know our section can handle that situations. We just need cooperation and understanding.

We will perform our musical play this March 1. It’s a little bit near so I hope we can practice all the scenes already. We already started making the props so we can practice with props already. I hope all our cooperation and efforts in this musical play will result to a good one.

I will really do my best when we perform our play on March 1. Even though I didn’t play a very big role in our play, I will still do my best so at least I still contributed on making the play much better.

...Despedida Party...

We had the despedida party for Kiery last Sunday. Kiery is the child of the cousin of my uncle. Her mother is in Italy so she let Kiery to be taken care of my auntie who still doesn’t have a child. She became like our true cousin. Kiery became really close to us. When her mother gave her to us, she is still not walking and not talking but now she already know many words and she can now run and walk fast. I’m really happy when I see that she grows everyday and we are all excited to listen to the new words she learned.

Kiery had her 2nd birthday with us and she spent her Christmas and New Year with us. We all love her and we all consider her as a true part of our family. We don’t want her to go away from us but we know that sometime her mother will get her from us and that time finally came. Her mother came last January and she stayed here for one month and they, she and Kiery, went to Italy on February 02.

Before they go, we had a despedida party for them. It was held on Robertos and we had many food. I really enjoyed swimming because we just had swimming often. I also ate many food but I’m also sad that Kiery who became really close to us, will now go far away from us.

We don’t know when she will come back and we don’t know if she will still remember us but for us, she will always be in our hearts and we will not forget our memories with her.

...English Festival...

January 25-30, 2010

ENGLISH FESTIVAL. This event evaluates each student on what they learn on English. Many contests of different categories can be participated by each student. There are contests that are only for the lower years and there are contests that can be participated by everybody.

I joined the Quiz Bee in English because I’m not that good in contest which involves dancing. The contest was conducted by each year level and was conducted the day before the speech fest. I’m not prepared because I don’t know that it will happen the day before the event. I was not able to read anything in Bridges. I just remembered some of the stories we studied in the earlier gradings. I didn’t have any place in our contest but it’s ok because I still participated.

I watched the newscasting contest where my bestfriends, Judy and Ralph, joined. I supported them and I really saw that they really tried their best. Other contests were Declamation and Oration which is only open for the lower years. I also watched the Poem Interpretation and the Jazz Chant. The students here are combined. In one group, there will be students of different year level. They are really good.

This is the only year where I feel the presence of the speech fest because when I’m still in first year and second year, I don’t participate on any contests. I still plan to join Quiz Bee next year and I hope I will win next year.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS!!!

2010 Career Orientation

Career Orientation for third year and fourth year students was held last Saturday in our school. The speakers in this event were our teachers who also graduated from our Alma Mater. Our teachers shared some of their experiences and some advices and tips so we can choose the right career that we want to be in the future. First, know yourself. Know the things that you really want to do.

Honestly, I still don’t have a chosen course to take in college. I’m already a third year student. Next year, I will graduate already (I’m not sure because of research.). I must have already the decision about what course will I take. It’s not an easy decision because once you have chosen that career, it will be forever. When I’m still a child, I really wanted to be a doctor. Whenever they will ask me about that, I will answer them that I want to be a doctor someday but as I grow older and learn about the things around me, I realized that I don’t want to be a doctor. The reason is that it is a very long learning. It will take me more than 5 years to finish that course and I don’t want that but my parents and relatives want me to be a doctor so I’m really confused. Computer Engineering is also one of my choices because I want to take a course that is related to Math but I don’t want to be an accountant. I truly want to be an expert in Mathematics. I also want to take Computer Science because I want to fix my computers by myself. I also want to be a seawoman and a pilot because the first reason is that it has a high salary. The other is that it is a new experience. I don’t want to be a nurse because there are already many nurses around the world. I also want to be a lawyer because of high salary but what will happen to me if I don’t have any clients.

I really don’t have any idea on what course will I take. I hope whatever career I will choose, I will be successful but before thinking of that I must focus on graduating in high school.

...Saturday Classes...

This is my first time to have classes during Saturdays. I really don't want to have Saturday classes because it reduces the time for me to rest, relax and do my assignments and projects. Instead of watching television and sleeping, I'm there at school studying and having difficult exercises.

For me, I feel that it's not like Saturday, I feel that it's like Tuesday. It's also fun because it was my first time and we just checked our testpapers. I was not able to attend all of the subjects this Saturday because we have our second seminar about Robotics.

We will still have many Saturday classes so maybe I will be used to it. I think it's really better than to answer a lot of modules and then pass it on Monday. We had our periodical test for third grading this Thursday and Friday. It's really hard but I'm lucky that I passed on other subjects. I'm just very thankful.

...Robotics...

Happy New Year...

I really love Media Noche ever since I'm a child because every midnight, there are lots of food in our table. There is cake, ice cream, and others. We are also following some "pamahiins" like we are getting noisy in midnight, I'm also jumping so I will get tall and we are also throwing coins all around the house. We also have a tiger in our table because it's Year of the Tiger. I'm also very happy because I heard in the news that Pisces are very lucky this year and I'm Pisces. I'm really happy and I hope this year is really good for me.

Robots...

I attended a seminar this Saturday in our school about Robotics. The one who discussed it on us is not a teacher in our school. He is Mr. Rox. We made a robot. It is a Lego NXT and we learned how to make it move. It's really fun and really awesome. It's my first time to do like that. I love it and I'm excited for our next seminar. I'm very lucky that I'm one of the chosen students.

happy new year!!!
